About Us

With over 12 years involved with soccer, Coach Karimu has extensive experience in the soccer industry. He began his coaching career in Sweden, serving as an Assistant Coach for the Robertsfors IK Youth Academy. During his time at Robertsfors, Coach Karimu worked closely with young athletes focusing on technical skills development, tactical awareness, and teamwork. Day-to-day responsibilities included planning and executing training sessions, evaluating individual performance, and providing constructive feedback to help players improve their skills and understanding of the game.

Upon returning to the United States, he accepted an opportunity with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as Assistant Coach for the Women’s Club Soccer Team, where he focused on advanced skill training, game strategy implementation, and conditioning at the collegiate level. His day-to-day responsibilities included designing practice drills, mentoring players on and off the field, and analyzing game footage to develop game plans.

Additionally, Coach Karimu joined Soccer Shots, where he served as a Lead Coach. His primary task was educating players on the fundamentals of soccer, such as basic ball control, passing, and teamwork. He is currently coaching the U10 Elite Boys Team with the Ellicott City Soccer Club, where he continues to develop young athletes by instilling discipline, enhancing their technical abilities, and fostering a love for the game.

Through his various experiences, Coach Karimu has developed a coaching style that emphasizes the fundamentals and basics of soccer techniques.  He is dedicated to helping players hone skills needed in any level of soccer and become more confident on the field. While stressing the importance of both technical and personal growth, he ensures that his players enjoy their time on the field playing the game they love. Coach Karimu strives to inspire and nurture young talent, through his passion for soccer and a commitment to creating a positive, fun, and effective learning environment.
